Extreme Kids Parties

On November 13th I had the rare opportunity to be a part of the filming for a reality TV show pilot. The Collins Avenue are producing this particular pilot for either TLC or Discovery. The show will be called "Extreme Kids Parties" or so I have been told. They contacted me because they wanted a local DJ who could provide the type of entertainment that resonates well on camera and will get kids and family moving on the dance floor. I was so excited to be a part of this pilot and I hope I make an appearance on show when it airs.

Here the production crew prepares for the shoot at the Castle in Layton, Ut

The Royal Party awaits the guest of honor a little girl celebrating her 7th birthday.

A Cinderella like pumpkin carriage arrived to pick her and her friends up for a ride around the Castle.

Inside different types of entertainment where showcased as people enjoyed the catered meal and goodies.

And here is the outfit they put together for DJ or Squire Rob (whatever works). All in all it was a great party/production to be a part of. I hope I actually make it on to the final cut of the show. More details to come.

Ross & Ikue

Another fun wedding with a the union of families from different parts of the world. Ross and Ikue
had their celebration in his parent's backyard on the East Bench of Salt Lake City. The wedding consisted of a ceremony followed by a traditional Japanese drum performance. Ikue had family and friends come all the way from Japan to come be a part of the wedding. I loved seeing her brides maids in traditional kimonos. The video below has a little excerpt of a Japanese pop song that got everyone up and dancing. It is fun to see the American Wedding crossed with the Japanese culture which makes for a great event.

Summer Weddings

This summer has been off to a great start with some fun and unique weddings. I have DJed weddings for couples with families with mixed nationalities. Kavitha and Fred threw a great wedding reception up at the Rice Eccles Stadium Tower. Kavitha is Indian American and Fred is Chinese American which made for a fun crowd. We played music from the modern hip hop to the hits from some of Bollywood's favorite movie soundtracks. Here is a video of the guests getting down to some Bhangra music which has got a great beat.
